Rediscovering Presence: Inviting a Deepening Presence to Connect with Self and World

  • The Mindfulness Center 4963 Elm Street, Suite 100 Bethesda, MD, 20814 United States (map)

"If we are not fully ourselves, truly in the present moment, we miss everything." ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Modern life is fast-paced and filled with distractions. Living in our heads on automatic pilot, we’re often reactive, unconsciously acting in response to our projections and conditioning, and swept away in a maelstrom of illusion. This disembodied state is often our default mode, and the cause of much suffering. And with a past- and future-oriented approach to life, we miss the richness that is right in front of us. At a time when we are virtually connected to everyone on the planet, we’ve never been more disconnected from each other or ourselves.

How are you meeting this moment? Do you feel like a passenger in your own life? How do we live a life with intention, meaning and connection?

This workshop, which is part of a series of continuing explorations aimed at bringing spirituality to life, will focus on the gifts of presence and its essential role in growth, transformation, and connection. Join Aurora Hutchinson and James Foulkes as we explore practices that disrupt our habitual patterns and cultivate embodiment and presence to experience the joy that is naturally here. Through yoga and other movement practices, meditation and inquiry, you will discover more about yourself, and be offered tools to fully inhabit life, and be more engaged with others.

In this workshop, you will explore:

• The aliveness and felt sense of presence.

• What stops us from being present, which can be a barrier to authentic connection to ourselves and others.

• Practices that offer a direct experience of presence to cultivate interest, wonder, and curiosity.

Cost: $100. Join us via Zoom. Space is limited - Register now.
